Marjorie Newman is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC). For twelve years now, she has practiced and assisted many Filipinos and people from other cultures reunite with their families and establish themselves in Canada. She is actively involved within her community, and, in the Filipino associations in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. 

She graduated with a major in Mass Communications in the Philippines and obtained a master’s in public administration, a degree she used while serving as a Municipal Councillor for 9 years, and subsequently as Provincial Board Member for 3 years before moving to Canada. She completed her Immigration Consultant Certificate Program in Oct 2, 2011 at CSIC eAcademy. 

As an immigrant herself, she experienced firsthand the struggles of adapting to a new country and re-establishing her career. Through her experiences, she felt compelled to help others immigrate and start their new lives in Canada. This led to establishing MCN Canada Immigration Consulting Inc. as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).

In her experience, she has consulted and processed a variety of applications from the economic stream, family class, and temporary resident applications. She has served as a guest speaker and presenter in various associations regarding immigration, and currently served as a Board of Director of the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants or CAPIC. 

Marjorie enjoys being involved in volunteering with various communities and associations. Most notably, she is a freelance journalist for Alberta Filipino Journal for the immigration column, a freelance video journalist for TFC ABS CBN News, she has served as VP for the Council of Edmonton Filipino Associations (CEFA), and President of the Philippine Business Society of Alberta. 

Through her efforts and volunteerism in community, in July 2023, she won the Community Service Awards during the 5th Golden Balangay Award, in December 2022 Marjorie received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal, she has been nominated for the 2019 ATB Alberta Women Entrepreneurs Awards. On December 2018, she received the Excellence in Community Service for Edmonton award given by the Filipino Champions of Canada for her contribution and service to the Filipino community. She has also received the Member Services Award from the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultant (CAPIC) consecutively for 7 years. 

Marjorie’s goal is to share the experience she’s acquired over the years to help new Canadians build their lives in Canada. She continues to grow and learn through each client she helps, and with each organization she becomes a part of. She is a loving wife and a mother, she loves to travel, and she never misses an opportunity to showcase her karaoke skills. Get to know Marjorie…

3. Being able to serve / volunteer in my community because I have always believed that volunteerism is an important way to keep our communities strong. I always teach my daughter and other young Albertans the importance of community service because it teaches them compassion and understanding and allows them to leave their mark on their communities.
